On Friday night we went to a Phoenix Roadrunners hockey game. It was so very fun!! The Roadrunners are the farm team for the San Jose Sharks. We got the tickets for the boys free through the summer reading program-- the seats were pretty decent too. In the 3rd period we decided to go sit near the season ticket section. It was a good thing we did and this is why....
Rocky the mascot was throwing t shirts out and one landed by my feet. I did not see it and the father and son sitting in front of us picked it up. About 10 minutes later they gave the shirt to us because they had one already = )
Next, we moved again due to the annoying kids behind us who were kicking our chairs and worried more about chasing their friends then watching the game. Anyhow, in our new seats we sat by some college aged dudes. These dudes happened to be the guys who shot pucks at the goal during intermission. They thought our boys were cool-- who wouldn't?-- and gave Noah and Nathan the pucks they shot during intermission. How rockin awesome is that?!
So, the moral of the story is when you get something for free actually use it AND the kindness of strangers is still out there and evident when you least expect it = )
