to clean or not to clean

Let me start out by saying that I tend to be an OCD (which should really be CDO so it's in alphabetical order) type person in the organization and routine department. I like to do certain chores on their specified day of the week. Laundry Wed. and Sat., clean entire house on Saturday, sweeping of floors on Wed., watering plants and doing little wastebaskets on Tues., etc. Oh, yes and everything and everyone running like a well oiled machine makes me feel accomplished.

However, I am slowly learning that it's okay if I need to do laundry on like Sunday. and *gasp* what if I DON"T clean the house on Saturday. Well, today I did the laundry, it's still going as I type, and I did not clean AT ALL. The house is still standing and we even had friends over to my "dirty" house and I was okay with it all!!

Instead today I went to Noah's baseball game, read the news, folded laundry, ate some of my Christmas goodies, crafted with a friend, taught at church, and hung out with my family and friends. I liked it! I have happy, tired boys, a relaxed husband, a cool journal I designed, and a rejuvenated spirit. I think that's better than a clean house any day : )

So, I tell you this to remind you to relax, enjoy life, and more importantly don't feel guilty about having fun while enjoying your blessings....

I'm glad I posted this so I can read it on Monday when I realize that the bathroom is stinky and I can't stand the dirty kitchen floor anymore : ) hee hee CDO tendencies are hard to overcome...
