Nathan--our "gift"

As you already know or may have guessed from our picture, we have two wonderful boys. Nathan our eldest and Noah the younger (never little) brother. This post is for Nathan... he has had an awesome week. We are proud of him for who he is very caring, thoughtful, quirky sense of humor, helpful, easy to talk to, and comfortable in his own skin. Sometimes as a parent though, you are proud of what they have accomplished.

On Monday evening he had his 2nd band concert of the year. He does a fantastic job playing his trumpet!! I like to listen to him practice--it makes our home seem cozy to have music in it. In this picture he is the one in the elf hat. His favorite song of the concert was "Good King Wenceslas".

Then today, he was competing in the school geography bee. We didn't even know he was going to be in it until he came home from school yesterday! So much for studying : ) There were 12 contestants and he was one of only 2 boys. There were 6 rounds. Each round consisted of one question per contestant with an all play question to end each round. Well, our guy got 2nd place!! Congratulations buddy! Olive juice, big guy!
