So, after leaving our campsite in Poudre Canyon on Sunday, June 28th we headed towards Denver, CO. You see, we had a birthday still to celebrate. Nathan's 11th to be exact. We went to Elitch Gardens in downtown Denver. It is an amusement and water park. The boys had a wonderful day of roller coasters, spinny rides, bumper cars, water park slides, splashing, and general shinanigans : ) I, on the other hand, rode 2 roller coasters and went on a water ride. I might have gotten my money's worth....
After a full day at the park we tried to figure out where to stay for the night. Our requirements: camp ground with laundry, showers, real flushable toilets, electric hook ups and not too far away. So, we called Paul's sis Mary to help out. She suggested Chatfield State Park and that's where we went. She even met us there!!! So, we did laundry, chatted with Mary, charged up every electronic device and the camper's battery and to bed we went-- ready for the next day of driving which would take us to Western Colorado and Ridgway State Park.
