view of the Poudre River from our camper

Thursday, June 25th we left the Fort (Morgan that is) and headed to Fort Collins, well actually Poudre Canyon. We were ready for some camping, some smores, some pine trees, and some REST! We spent 3 nights at Kelly Flats in the Rosevelt National Forest. Our sight was right on the river and you could hear the water roaring down the canyon all the time. It was very peaceful and serene. We went hiking. One trial went to the top of a mountain and the other led us through a mountain meadow full of wilflowers. I was in heaven--- the boys were looking up the rocks for mountian lions. Apparently, flowers are too tame! On Friday, June 26th (nathan's 11th birthday), we went to Lorry state park and did some mountain biking and got completely muddy. Noah splashed through a puddle and had mud in his ears, all up his nose and he ate it too. I soo wanted a picture but he wouldn't let me! I got my bike stuck in the mud-- the kind of mud that ssshhlloopppss as you pull anything out of it. Mostly, we enjoyed hanging out! On Saturday Sarah and Paul (sis and brother in law) came to hang out for a while too.
