The Sleepover

What is it about spending the night with a friend that makes it so exciting and special? Is it that mom and dad bend some of the rules, or that secrets are shared, or maybe even that sleeping on the floor is cool? One thing for sure we had some very excited boys in our home last night! Nathan and Noah each had a friend spend the night to say farewell to summer vacation. They came to eat spaghetti, swim, play the wii, watch movies, stay up late, sleep in blanket forts, talk with flashlights on and share secrets and laughter. By 1 am I went to bed counting the evening as a success... and knowing I needed to wake up all too soon to make muffins for breakfast. They are all playing hide and seek as I type-- I am surprised that they want to play together -- 11 year olds and 6 year olds. They did that for most of the evening except for the movies and the sleeping! I hope the boys had as much fun as I had watching them interact and listening to/over hearing their conversations : )
