This day started with a hike to the top of Vernal Falls. A 1.5 mile hike with a 1000 foot elevation gain! The 2nd half of the trail all the way to the top is steps cut into the granite. The steps and the air are wet due to the mist as the falls plummets over the edge. You can also see many rainbows as the sunshine hits the water droplets. SO very cool! On the way down Noah counted 530 steps. It took us 3 hours round trip and boy were we hungry and ready for lunch. Then we packed up for an afternoon of swimming and finally SHOWERS! We use the free shuttles to see the sights and get to our destinations. After dinner we took it easy and made apple pies on the campfire!
